If you live in the Sierra Vista, AZ area we would love to have you join our group. The reason is simple, each member of Borderline Mensa makes this a better local group. By joining you will make our Mensa experience better. This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with people who are a lot like you in some ways and a lot different in other ways. You may think that all we do is sit around and talk about "rocket science" but the only math that usually gets discussed is when it's time to figure out how much to tip the server (and some Mensans have far more complex algorithms than just adding 15%). Then again someone may mention a particularly interesting math problem and the members who enjoy the subject will pounce on it to see if they can be the first to solve it.
As a member of Mensa you will receive both the national and local newsletters and have the opportunity to join one of the over 150 Special Interest Groups where you can meet people who share your passion whether it's alternative medicine, the Burning Man event, creative retirement, homeschooling, investment, body building, simplicity, Patrick O'Brian, philosophy, wine making, or cajun-zydeco music (to name just a few).
Borderline Mensa is involved in the local community. Each year we sponsor a team in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life®. We also sponsor performances by the Illegitimate Theater Company, a local community theater group. We've participated in the Chamber of Commerce's annual Spelling Bee and we've sponsored local teams in the Odyssey of the Mind program. Borderline Mensa also gives away scholarships each year through the Mensa Education & Research Foundation (Foundation)
Scholarship Program.
