The Case For A Logical Universe

Cosmologists can say anything and get away with it. They can defy logic, defy the accepted laws of the universe, defy the accumulated experimental evidence of the nature of the universe, defy the predictions of other successful fields of science, and feel completely comfortable. Cosmology has blithely invented everything from wormholes to strings in an effort to patch up illogical assumptions with more cycles and epi-cycles and crystal spheres than Ptolemy’s theory of the solar system. But the most careless and illogical of all assumptions, unsupported by physical law, unsupported by the accumulated evidence of its nature, and unsupported by quantum mechanics is the general assumption by cosmology that space is “an empty vacuum” and our visible universe was created in a “big bang” out of nothing and is expanding into nothing.

Let’s start with a recent experiment reported in the newspapers as an example of cosmology’s use of this illogical assumption. Physicists claim, when they took certain procedures in their laboratory, a quantity of negative energy/matter appeared, but reported the negative energy/matter was unstable and quickly disappeared. Cosmologists jumped right in to assume the negative energy/matter was created out of the empty vacuum of Space, and then combined with positive energy/matter and magically disappeared. Nobody seemed to note or care that this assumption defies the 1st law of thermodynamics that energy/matter can neither be created nor destroyed, or as the ancient Greek noted, “something cannot be made out of nothing.” The better assumption would be to accept the 1st law of thermodynamics and assume that the negative energy/matter created in the laboratory was created out of something, and then, in accordance with the 2nd law of thermodynamics, atrophied back into that something.

Specifically, if we rely on the law of thermodynamics, the preponderance of accumulated evidence concerning the universe, and the predictions of quantum mechanics that Space contains infinite energy, the only logical assumption available is that Space is a special form of energy normally in a balanced state, and, when disturbed, it will break up into positive and negative energy/matter, and then sooner or later the positive and negative energy/matter will combine and atrophy into a natural balanced state we know as Space. The 1st law of thermodynamics requires that, since energy can neither be created nor destroyed, energy can only change form. To abide by the law energy must first exist as Space, break up into positive and negative energy, and then recombine to again exist as Space. Stating it another way, if (-E) + (E) = Space, it follows that Space = (-E) + (E), and is not an empty vacuum.

And the evidence is clear that Space does not act like an empty vacuum. Man has always observed, for example, that Space will generate waves of energy when excited by a source, because we can see the waves of energy as light reflecting off objects in the universe. Waves do not form in an empty vacuum. And in the last century we learned that Space vibrates when excited by a radio transmitter, because we can detect the vibrations with a radio receiver. An empty vacuum will not vibrate. So we have evidence that Space does not act like an empty vacuum. The substance that makes up Space is seething with waves and vibrations created by both man and nature.

And we have evidence that Space is strongly distorted in the presence of a magnetized mass or an electric current where all electrons are aligned. Every school child has traced the strong distortions with iron filings sprinkled on a piece of paper held near a magnet or a hot electric wire. And we now have experimental evidence that space is weakly distorted in the presence of a large mass like the sun, even though its electrons are not aligned, because scientists have seen starlight bend when passing through the distortion of space near our sun during an eclipse. And Space is literally full of distortions that planets and suns and entire swirling galaxies trace as they orbit themselves and nearby objects in Space. So Space is no empty vacuum because only a substance can produce waves, vibrations and distortions.

The logical assumption pointed to by the evidence of the nature of Space, the laws of the universe and quantum mechanics is that the planets, suns and galaxies we see out there at night are not bubbles of positive or negative energy/matter created out of nothing in a big bang all floating in nothing and destined to disappear into nothing. The logical assumption is they are bubbles of imbalanced energy, created in a big bang disturbance in Space, all floating in an undulating, vibrating, distorted sea of balanced energy, and sooner or later the bubbles will combine with bubbles of the opposite polarity and atrophy back into the balanced energy of Space – only to be replaced by new imperfections ad infinitum.

It’s my view, once physical science sheds the magical thinking of cosmology and bases its assumptions on the laws of thermodynamics, the accumulated evidence concerning the nature of Space, and the predictions of quantum mechanics to factor-in Space as a sea of infinite energy instead of zero or an empty vacuum, mathematicians will quickly consolidate cosmic physics and quantum physics into a “Theory of Everything,” and put us on the road to discovering how to manipulate the infinite energy of Space to work for mankind. The only question that will be left, Smarty Pants, is where did the sea of infinite energy called Space come from?
